WCG 2005: European Case Modding Show Doom3 by Alexander

Project Name: Doom3: Full Experience
Build time: 70 hours
Materials used: Steel, plexi
Website: www.pc-max.de

bit-tech: How long have you been involved in Modding? Have you made any cases before this one?
Alexander: I started modding in 2001. One of my other mods is Space-Con: made of aluminum, water-cooled with a reservoir that can be put up straight, and the case door can be opened with a remote control. I also made a Lian Li 1200, "Facility", just visit my webpage for all the details. And then there is "PlexXxos" It will be published in "CHIP Magazine" in May 2005.

bit-tech: What inspired you to make this particular case?
Alexander: I was inspired by Piloux, Blackmesa, and I chose Doom 3 because there are already many Half-Life mods

bit-tech: Tell us more about this case: what makes it special? What are its unique features?
Alexander: Mainboard is upside down, WTX, it’s a MSI K8, AMD ATHLON 3200+, Geforce 6800GT, corsair XMS 1 GB, Western Digital SATA 36 GB, Water-cooled, custom made reservoirs, and they are build on the pump, the reservoirs are cases from Oakley sunglasses. Logo: I bought the logo on eBay for 5 euro. The case was a big tower (Aopen)15 years old and I shortened it to a midi tower... The columns are all welded, and also the sides, and the left side is build like an ammo box in different layers

bit-tech: What is your prediction for this competition? Name your Top 3
Alexander:

Coldfusion

Alien

BS-601

bit-tech: What plans do you have for the future?
Alexander: Im working on motionX, it's planned to be finished for the DCMM (German CaseModMasters). And that’s all I can say about it, but I think the name speaks for itself.

bit-tech: And finally, what is your favourite Case Mod / Modder of all time?
Alexander: Not really one case....
